What is with "iCarly"?

iCarly is my guilty pleasure as an adult. (It is hilarious). But, it is certainly not appropriate for my kids! My kids (6 and 8) love it, but it is way to violent. This one character, Freddie I think, is hurt so much! He got hit by a truck & severely injured, he got pushed out of a treehouse, he got a fork stabbed in his arm. I let my kids watch this kid getting hurt like that? Also, there are tons of innuendos. Is it a mistake to let my kids watch this show?
